Privacy Policy
Sugaree is a creative studio where people make images and short videos from brands' licensed material, and where every published piece carries an invisible watermark and signed content credentials so it can be traced back to the people who made it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address and your role (creator, brand team member, or Sugaree staff). You sign in with a personal key. We store only a one-way fingerprint of that key, never the key itself.
What you make
The words you type (prompts and titles), the images and videos the studio makes for you, the refinements you ask for, and the choices you make along the way. Brand team members also give us the brand's assets, house rules and approved lines.
The record of how a piece was made
When you publish, we record how the piece was made: which licensed assets it came from, which earlier pieces it builds on, the checks it passed, and who contributed. This record is what lets credit and payment flow to the right people. Parts of it are public (see "What is public").
Linked social accounts
If you link an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube or Reddit account, we store the account's id and display name, and the access tokens the platform gives us. Tokens are encrypted before they are stored and are never shown to anyone, you included. We also keep a record of each post you make through Sugaree (the platform, the post's id and link, and whether it was later removed).
Safety and service records
- Your network address and counts of your recent requests, used to stop abuse (kept for about two days).
- Records of reports, reviews, takedowns, downloads and posts, and of what each piece cost to make, used to run the service, keep it safe, and settle payments.
On your device
The studio keeps your sign-in key in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not use cookies to follow you around the web.
How we use it
- To run the studio: make what you ask for, store it, and show it to you.
- To check requests against a brand's house rules and Sugaree's own rules before anything is made, and to flag finished pieces for a person to review at publish.
- To watermark published pieces, attach signed content credentials, and keep the record of how each was made.
- To credit and pay the people who contributed to a piece, and to exclude pieces that were taken down.
- To post to your linked accounts, only when you press Post, and to remove those posts where the platform allows it if a piece is taken down.
- To prevent abuse, investigate reports, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run Sugaree. Each receives only what it needs for its job:
| Provider | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Checks requests against house rules; reviews finished pieces at publish | Your prompt text; at publish, the finished piece and the brand's reference assets |
| fal.ai | Makes images, and short videos (Kling) | Your prompt and the licensed assets you chose |
| Runway | Remixes a brand's video assets | Your prompt and the chosen video asset |
| Backup video model, if used | Your prompt and the chosen assets | |
| Fly.io | Hosts Sugaree, its database and its files (United States) | Everything Sugaree stores |
| Social platforms you link | Receive the posts you choose to make | The published piece, your caption, and the choices you make for that post |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply).
What is public
Anything you publish is public: the piece, its title, and its record of where it came from (which Drop, which earlier pieces). Your email is never public. Sugaree staff, the brand whose Drop a piece came from, and Sugaree's detection tools can see which account made it, so it can be credited and paid. Published pieces carry an invisible watermark and content credentials that identify them wherever they are copied. Nothing you have not published appears anywhere public. How much anyone has earned is never public.
How long we keep it
- Your account and drafts: until you delete your account.
- Published pieces: until they are unpublished or taken down. Some parts of the record of how a piece was made are kept afterwards, in a form that cannot be altered, because they prove what happened and who is owed what.
- Linked account tokens: deleted when you unlink the account.
- Request counts used against abuse: about two days.
Your choices and rights
- Unpublish anything you published, from its page.
- Unlink any social account at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, by writing to lee@sugaree.ai. We answer within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Economic Area and the UK), you may have further rights, including to object to or restrict some uses. We honour them, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
Security
Sign-in keys are stored only as one-way fingerprints, linked-account tokens are encrypted, connections are encrypted in transit, and every published piece is signed so tampering can be detected. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Children
Sugaree is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell signed-in users before the change takes effect.
